Never Underestimate the Will of a Child

Today I asked Eleanor to get me some toilet paper for Jack's runny nose. Quickly remembering that it was up high on the window sill I told her, "Never mind, it's too high for you." She walked over toward the bathroom and said to me, "Hey, me reach it just fine!" She then proceeded to climb up on the counter and get some toilet paper off the window sill. Those of you who know Ellie know that she is by far our smallest child and will soon be outstripped in size and weight by Jack. However, she has an indomitable spirit and will not be underestimated. I love you, Ellie!

Ellie, you're taking after your Great-Grandma Sandi Sperry. She used to climb everywhere when she was very little. Grandma Sperry would love to climb too, but the coming down was what terrified her the most.

Keep on climbing Ellie. You have the ability to reach new heights every day.

Love you,
Grandma Sperry
