After much deliberation we decided to go ahead and trade both of our cars in for the new one. I'm going to be a biking teacher this year. Who needs to waste gas for a two mile trip.
What we purchased was based in no little part on our monthly budget :o)
We decided on a 2007 Chevy Equinox AWD. Some of the biggest selling points for us were as follows:
- The price (of course) We traded in both of our cars and only had to finance 60% of the original cost. (a three year old Honda was $25,000. We financed less than half of that for a one year old Chevy.
- AWD (All Wheel Drive) With having a lot of ice and a marginal amount of snow every year since we've been here, It'll be nice to have a little more control on the road in winter.
- The Auxiliary media jack on the dash. We love being able to plug in the Zune without getting the hiss and fuzz of a FM transmitter.
- It was owned by a "Major Auto Rental Company" (according to CarFax). It had reasonably low miles.
- It still smells like a new Car :o)
There are a lot of reasons we love it, though. Here are some pics.
