Dance of the Woodland Sprite

Yesterday, Eleanor wanted me to put on some music so that she could dance around. I was talking on the phone and told her to wait. So she decided to make her own music. She found a thick plastic straw and proceeded to get about six different pitches out of it just by breathing in and out of it. At first it was a little obnoxious until I noticed that she could make so many notes from it and that she was dancing so beautifully. I suddenly felt accompanied by a little woodland sprite dancing and playing her wood flute. She was so pretty and in her own little world and so I brought out the camera.

John and I have discovered (as posted in a previous entry) that we oughtn't underestimate our Ellie-Bean.

What a smart girl! She has a successful future ahead of her, with her persistence and creativity. If only we could all entertain ourselves so readily...

This is the first comment I have EVER left on any blog, but HOLY COW, your kids are big!!! I was trying to find your phone # and address when I came across your blog. It's very cute and I can't believe what a difference 5 months can make. It's good to see old friends. Good luck with the penny pinching...we could use a lot of that ourselves.
