New Lens for the Rebel

We just bought a new lens for the camera and wanted to share some of what we've been doing with it. The lens is the Canon f1.8, 50mm. Again, these pictures are my first attempt at playing with the different speeds and f-stops, etc.

I've been trying a bunch of lighting scenarios, and I dare say this lens is exceptionally fast and clear for the price.

A little foreground/background action

For my final trick of the day, here's a little macro action. This is accomplished by attaching my standard zoom lens to the camera and then putting the 50mm face to face with it and shooting through the back of the 50mm like a magnifying glass.

wow, I didn't even know you could do that last trick with a camera--the two lenses trick. How does it manage to focus?

Yeah, I've had my eye on that lens for a long time. 1.8f would be so nice for indoor pictures and the 50mm is about right.

I'm impressed with what you are learning with the camera! Jake thinks your blog is cool and Jon loves the music you have posted. This is Lori from church by the way.. tell Sarah 'hi'!
